Dr. Wei Yu

Auckland, New Zealand

Dr. Wei Yu is working in Chemical and Materials Engineering Department, the University of Auckland. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Industrial Information and Control Centre (I2C2), Faculty of Engineering, Auckland, New Zealand from 2008 to 2011. He received his B.E. (1993) degree in Chemical Engineering from Liaoning University of Petroleum and Chemical Technology, Fushun, P.R. China, Master (2003) and Ph.D. (2007) degree in Chemical Engineering from the Queen’s University, Canada. He worked as a process engineer at West Pacific Petrochemical Company, Dalian, P.R. China from 1993-1999. His main research interests include process monitoring, multivariate data analysis and process control and identification.

Prof. Alina Butu

National Institute of Research, Bucharest, Romania

Alina BUTU is Scientific Director, Head of Biotechnology Department, Senior Researcher at National Institute of Research and Development for Biological Sciences, Bucharest, Romania. She has expertise in: microbial biotechnology, vegetal biotechnology, environmental biotechnology, bioinformatics, biofuels.
She earned Postdoc in Biotechnology for Medical Applications - University Polytechnic of Bucharest; PhD in Physics, with Magna cum laudae - University of Bucharest; Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, specialization Biotechnology - University of Bucharest.
She has won the prize, Traian Săvulescu“ of Romanian Academy in 2016 and many other prizes in her field of expertise. She is co-author of more than 150 scientific publications, she has coordinated over 20 national and international projects and she has participated in other over 30 projects. Alina Butu is President of Biophysics and Medical Physics section of Romanian Society of Physics and a member of over 30 international scientific manifestation committees.

Assoc.Prof. Tomáš Navrátil
J. Heyrovský Institute of Physical Chemistry of the CAS, Czech Republic

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tomáš Navrátil (1967) is a member of the Department of Electrochemistry at the Nanoscale, J. Heyrovský Institute of the Physical Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences. He earned his PhD (1996) in analytical chemistry at the Faculty of Science, Charles University; he habilitated at the First Faculty of Medicine of the same university (Biochemistry, 2012).
He deals with investigation of transporting processes across biological membranes, with development of new analytical and electrochemical methods, with development and testing of new electrochemical sensors, with biostatistics and mathematical methods (elimination voltammetry, chemometry, etc.).
Author and co-author of more than 190 full-length papers in peer-reviewed journals (about 155 in impacted journals incl. accepted) (since 1996); of 8 book chapters, of 8 chapters in Textbooks. About 2350 citations (autocit. incl.), more than 1500 citations (autocit. excl.) according to WOS + more than 130 (according to Scopus) (autocit. excl.); H-index = 32 (Researcher ID “F-4000-2012“); Author of four special medicinal databases. www-pages with presentations (lectures) for students of biochemistry: about 46 000 accesses (since 2004). He has been principal investigator or co-investigator of 4 grant projects of the Grant Agency of the Czech Science Foundation and of 1 of grant project of the Grant Agency of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, co-investigator of the project of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic and participant of about 14 other national or international grant projects.
